Making Invitations - August and September, 2007 Who knew such a beautiful invitation could the product of such a painful process! Making Favors - Fall, 2007 & Deciding on Flower Selections - Fall, 2007 Together, the bride and groom worked on creating the Florida favors and deciding on which flowers to use in the Pittsburgh reception centerpieces. As a wedding present to one another, Mike and Karen adopted Rory, a spunky six-month old kitten, and her brother Chip, a climbing monkey-cat at the ripe old age of 2 months. Bridesmaid Brunch - Sunday, September 16, 2007 As a thank you to her bridesmaids, Karen took the ladies out to brunch at Casbah and gave them their presents! Bridesmaid Dress Shopping - Saturday, May 5, 2007 All of the bridesmaids (Carolyn Filipski and Eileen Filipski), the maid of honor (Liz Heltman), Ma, and Mom got together at MB Bride in Greensburg, PA to try on sample bridesmaid dresses for purchase for the wedding. Listed below are some sample pictures of the event. We settled on a two-piece style; each bridesmaid has a long, satin dress, but each top is different. Note that some of the sample dresses are green, not the bridal color of red! The final dresses chosen are not necessarily photographed. Warning - "Bride & Bridesmaids Pictures!" Bride Dress/Veil Shopping - Saturday, May 5, 2007 During our visit to MB Bride, the bridal party helped the bride find her veil for the Disney World wedding. Practice Hair Trial Run - Friday, August 10, 2007 & Numerous Fittings - August and September, 2007 The Bride went to Dean's in Shadyside (Pittsburgh), PA for a practice updo for the Pittsburgh reception. It winds up that this style may be used in Disney, as well, as the Groom loves the Bride's natural curls! These photos were taken after a 6 hour drive to Philadelphia, in preparation for the bridal shower. The hairstyle held up well after a day of travel! Notice that the decorative pins and headpiece are missing. Additionally, there is a listing of fittings photos taken throughout the alterations process.
